Safe, Medical-Grade Ear Piercing for Infants and Children.

Ear piercing is available exclusively to established patients of Hometown Pediatrics. We are unable to schedule ear piercing appointments for children who are not current patients of our practice.

• Ear piercing is available to children beginning at 4 months of age. Because safe and accurate placement requires appropriate positioning, Hometown Pediatrics reserves the right to postpone piercing if the provider determines it cannot be safely and accurately completed.

• We use the Blomdahl Medical Ear Piercing System, a sterile system designed specifically for use by healthcare professionals.

• Medical-grade plastic piercing studs are used, which are suitable for children with nickel sensitivity.

• For infants and young children, we only pierce the earlobes. Cartilage piercings are available for individuals aged 15 years and older. 

• Children with previous ear piercings, scar tissue, or concerns about prior piercing sites may not be candidates for piercing. Suitability will be determined by the provider.

• We cannot place two piercings immediately next to each other during the same visit, as this can affect accurate placement and proper healing.

• We pierce both ears at the same time making the process quick and minimizing discomfort.

PLEASE NOTE: Having a sibling or other family member who is a Hometown Pediatrics patient does not establish eligibility. The child receiving the piercing must be a current patient of the practice.
